Palace On Wheels
The passenger coaches which were originally meant to be the personal railway coaches of t he erstwhile rulers of princely states of Rajputana, Gujarat, the Nizam of Hyderabad and the Viceroy of British India. These coaches were not being used by the Indian Railways after independence in normal passenger trains on account of very rich and traditional interiors.
The name "Palace-on-Wheels" (POW) was derived from its royal back-ground of the coaches. A new air conditioned meter gauge Palace-on-Wheels Train was introduced in 1990 with sharing toilets had 13 Saloons, 2 Restaurant cum Kitchen car, one Bar cum Lounge and 4 Service Cars. In order to further increase the amenities on the train and Due to conversion of tracks to broad gauge in Rajasthan , the present 14 Passenger Saloon train was introduced with A/C cabins attached toilets in 1995 & offers Royal comforts with modern amenities personalised service.
In the past 20 years of operations, the Palace-on-Wheels has been rated as one of the best ten luxurious rail journeys in the world.
Saloons:
The names of the saloons are based on the princely states of Rajasthan - Alwar, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Bundi, Dholpur, Dungarpur, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jhalawar, Jodhpur, Kishangarh, Kota, Sirohi, and Udaipur.

WEDNESDAY: DELHI Depart :
Report 1600 hrs(4 p.m.) at Safderjung Railway Station for check-in formalities.
After Royal welcome,escorted to personal Cabins.Palace On Wheels Train departs Delhi at 1800 hrs.

THURSDAY: JAIPUR Tour:
After breakfast on board,proceed for Jaipur Excursion. Visit Palace Of Winds(Hawa Mahal) for photo stop;15th century Amber Fort Palace enjoy Elephant ride time for shopping.
Lunch at Jaipur 5 Star Hotel.Afternoon visit 18th century Pink City Palace complex time at liesure.
Return to Railway Station to board the Maharaja Train depart by 1900 hrs.

FRIDAY: JAISALMER Tour:
After breakfast on board,proceed for Morning visit to explore the 13th century living Desert Fort Town. Return to Train for Lunch.
After brief rest,late afternoon excursion to Sam Sand Dunes for Camel Ride.
Enjoy Dinner & Cultural program in Deluxe Jaisalmer Hotel. Late evening return to Train & Depart onwards by 2300 hrs.
SATURDAY: JODHPUR Tour:
After breakfast on board,morning visit to 19th century Jaswant Thada cenotophs &
impressive late 16th century built Mehrangarh Fort Palace complex.Proceed for lunch & museum visit to Umaid Bhawan
Palace Hotel.
Afternoon return to Maharaja Train & depart by 1530 hrs.
Dinner on board.
SUNDAY: RANTHAMBHORE & CHITTORGARH Tour :
Early morning 0630 hrs proceed for visit to Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve.Return to Maharaja Train for rest & breakfasy Depart Sawai Madhopur by 0930 hrs.Lunch on board.Afternoon visit 9th century
established impressive Hill Fort of Chittorgarh.Evening return back to Maharaja Train for Dinner.
MONDAY: UDAIPUR Tour :
After breakfast on board procee for sightseeing of City of Lakes.visit 17th Century City Palace,Museum ,Saheliyon Ki Bari & time free for shopping.Lunch at 5 Star Hotel.
Evening return to Train & depart by 1900 hrs.

TUESDAY: BHARATPUR & AGRA Tour :
Early morning visit to World Heritage Site of Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary.Return to Maharaja Train for rest & breakfast.Train proceeds to Agra.Enjoy lunch at 5 Star Hotel.
Afternoon visit the eternal Taj Mahal & 15th century Agra Fort.Time free for shopping.Evening return to Maharaja Train for farewell dinner.Depart Agra by 2000
hrs.
WEDNESDAY:DELHI Return :
The Train reaches Delhi Safedrung Railway Station by 0630 hrs in the morning & option to leave the Maharaja Train Tour after early breakfast by 0730 hrs.Maharaja Train ends.
